Key information about our home brew shop and products

Choosing and paying for items

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay using major credit and debit cards, including:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • Maestro
  • American Express
  • We also accept payment via PayPal.

I’ve just placed an order. Can I change or cancel it?

If you want to change or cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible.

As we aim to pack and send orders soon after they’ve been placed, it’s not always possible to cancel an order unless you act quickly. (Don’t worry – you can send back any items you don’t want, subject to our returns policy.)

I’m located outside of the UK. Can I order from you?

Sorry, but we don’t currently ship items to countries other than the UK.

You don’t seem to have what I’m looking for. Can you order it in?

The best thing to do is to get in touch and tell us what you’re looking for. We will do our best to source what you require.

Please note that we can’t always deliver items that contain pressurised gas or that are particularly fragile.

Do you have a shop where I can browse your products?

No. We only sell our home brew equipment and supplies online. This allows us to keep overheads low and pass the savings on to you.

However, you may be able to collect your order from our Ilminster warehouse. See our Click & Collect page for current information.

I’ve found a product but I don’t know if it’s what I need. Can you help?

Sure. People often want to know if a piece of equipment will work with their existing home brew setup, or if the item they’ve chosen is right for their needs.

If you send us your question, we’ll do our best to answer it. Please include as much information as possible so we can answer accurately.

Where can I find voucher and discount codes?

We sometimes send vouchers to people who are signed up to receive our newsletter. You can sign up now:

You can also check our blog for details of offers and discounts.

Do you offer discounts for bulk purchases?

Yes, we do sometimes offer discounts when you buy more than one unit of selected products. Where a bulk discount is available, we show this clearly with the other product information.

Additionally, if you intend to buy a larger quantity of a single item, contact us first. We may be able to offer a discount.

Delivery and returns

How much does delivery cost?

It depends what you’re ordering and which delivery option you choose. The cost of delivery largely depends on the weight of the items you’re buying, so we’ll show the prices for our different delivery options when you check out.

If you’re located near Ilminster, you may be able to opt to pick up items free from our warehouse. See our Click & Collect page for current information.

How long will it take for my order to be delivered?

We offer two main delivery options:

  • Standard delivery. Most orders sent via our standard service arrive in two to three working days.
  • Express delivery. Orders sent using our express service arrive on the next working day.

If you place your order before 2.30pm on a working day, we will dispatch it that day. If you place your order after 2.30pm, it may not be dispatched until the next working day.

Orders placed at the weekend or on Bank Holidays will be shipped on the next working day.

My order has been delivered and I don’t want it. What should I do?

You can return part or all of your order for a refund. Please see our returns information.

An item in my order is damaged or missing. How do I get a replacement?

Sorry about that. We’ll get a replacement to you as quickly as we can. Please read our returns information to learn how to report a missing or damaged item.

I’m buying an item as a gift. If the recipient doesn’t like it, how long do they have to return it?

Once you’ve received your item(s) you have 15 days to return them for any reason, subject to our returns policy.

Getting more help

I’ve never done any home brewing before. Where should I start?

A good way to get started with home brewing is to buy a starter kit. These include all the ingredients and equipment you need to brew a batch of beer, wine or cider. For instance:

  • Sterilising powder
  • Brewer’s bucket
  • Sugar, spray malt or beer enhancer
  • Syphon
  • Priming sugar
  • Hydrometer

You might also need to purchase a barrel or some bottles to hold your beer, wine or cider.

Our kits include comprehensive instructions. There’s also lots of advice and information for first-time brewers available on our blog.

I’m not sure how to use the item I’ve bought. Can you help?

Many of our products (and our kits, in particular) come with detailed instructions that explain what to do. You can get extra tips and advice from our blog. And if you get really stuck, contact us. We’ll do our best to help you.

For how long are items guaranteed?

All equipment and hardware we sell is guaranteed for a year. Brewing ingredients, additives, chemicals and other perishable items have a ‘use by’ or ‘best before’ date printed on them. These are guaranteed until that date.

I have another question. How do I get in touch with you?

Please send a message via our contact page. We’ll reply as soon as we can.
