Muntons have been supplying the brewing world with their high quality malts for over 100 years, during which time they have learnt a thing or two about the brewing process so now they are bringing the best of their knowledge to home craft brewers with their new Tap Room Series - the taproom that comes to you with a range of limited edition, contemporary, unique craft beer kits created by Muntons master brewers.

Muntons will introduce only a limited number (one production batch) of each beer style and will then replace it with another on-trend beer once each style sells through, keeping the range exciting and diverse. Muntons Tap Room MaltZeit Vienna Red Lager is the sixth of these offerings.

In 1841, Anton Dreher became the “King of Beer” when he revolutionised brewing by combining lightly kilned (Vienna) malt with lager yeast. In doing so, he introduced a toasted, clean, and crisp beer that would grow to become one of the most popular beer styles across the continent. 

With an ABV of 5% MaltZeit is made with 100% Vienna Malt, keeping it as true as possible to Anton's vision for the style almost 200 years ago. It's smooth, malty and slighty toasted notes provide a crisp European lager enhanced by the addition of 30g of Hallertau hop pellets that are suplpied with the kit.

  • Requires the addition of 1Kg of brewing sugar, spraymalt or beer kit enhancer

This kit contains:

  • Easy step-by-step instruction guide
  • 1 x 1.5Kg can of barley malt extract with hop extracts
  • 30g of Hallertau hop pellets
  • 1 x 6g sachet of premium dried yeast
  • Makes approximately 35 Pints

In order to make this kit you may need:

  • Sterilizing powder
  • Brewers bucket
  • Water
  • 1Kg of brewing sugar, spraymalt or beer kit enhancer
  • Syphon
  • Hydrometer
  • Long stirring spoon
  • Measuring jug
  • Carbonation drops / priming sugar
  • Bottles or Barrel

Please note all necessary equipment is available in our #6 Kit - Premium Beermaking Set (if you want to use a Keg) or our #4 Kit - Winemaking Set and some bottles if you want to bottle it after brewing.
