This M84 Bohemian Lager yeast is a bottom fermenting strain suitable for European lager and Pilsner style beers. This yeast will produce soft, delicate and balanced beers with a dry and clean palate typical of Czech brewing and is suitable for German / Bohemian Pilsners, Baltic Porters, all lager styles including American style ones, German Bocks and more.

Flavour / Mouthfeel Characteristics: In wort with simple grain bills the delicate malt flavours will survive with the hop and malt characters being enhanced and supported by moderate to full body when brewing using this yeast. Beer fermented with this strain is generally rich and chewy without being heavy at all so light and delicately balanced beers are perfect for this yeast. Lagering periods as short as 4 weeks may produce acceptable beer but allowing it to lager for 6 to 8 weeks will result in beer that is richer and smother with a nore refined aroma and flavour.

Aroma Characteristics: Classic Bohemian Pilsner strain aroma and flavour characteristics can be expected from this yeast.

Higher Alcohol Beers: This strain will perform reasonably well in higher alcohol beer production up to 8% ABV. Beer of over 7% ABV will be slightly sweet and the alcohol may be slightly hot.
