Burton Bridge Brewery takes its name from the bridge over the River Trent at Burton-on-Trent. It is situated 20 yards from the end of the present bridge. Built in the late 17th Century as the Fox and Goose Inn the old bridge finished just outside the front door. The remains of the first two arches are still there, but buried under the road. An even earlier bridge probably existed in Roman times. Burton has long been famous for beer-making, and this beer is an excellent example of their craftsmanship!

Burton Porter has the following characteristics:

  • Colour: 95 (0-lightes to 250-darkest)
  • Bitterness: 25 (0-Least to 100-most bitter)
  • ABV: 4.5%

This kit contains:

  • Full instructions
  • 1 x tin of malt extract
  • 1 x sachet of brewing yeast
  • Makes approximately 40 pints (23 litres)

In order to make this kit you may need:

  • Sterilizing powder
  • Brewers bucket
  • Water
  • Sugar, Spray malt or beer enhancer
  • Syphon
  • Priming sugar for the barrel or bottles
  • Hydrometer

Please note all necessary equipment is available in our #6 Kit - Premium Beermaking Set (if you want to use a Keg) or our #4 Kit - Winemaking Set and some bottles if you want to bottle it after brewing.
